How Grooming Can Make Your Dog Shine

Who doesn’t love the look and feel of a soft, silky, shiny pup? Plus, a perfect coat is an indicator of overall health (and looks awesome on Instagram!).

Want to get the glow for your dog? Here’s how grooming can make your dog shine:

Clean Out the Coat

A solid brushing gets rid of built-up dead skin, loose hair, and the dirt and dander that builds up over time. Getting rid of all that gunk is the first step to a shining pup, and it’s one of the most important grooming tasks to work into your regular routine.

Enhance What’s There

Once all the build up is gone, focus on the assets your pup already has. Enhance her natural coat with a healthy, detoxifying shampoo. Follow that up with a rich conditioner to add moisture--and bring out the natural shine.

Improve the Condition

If the coat isn’t in tip-top shape to begin with, start to improve the quality with carefully-selected grooming aids, like specially-formulated shampoos and conditioners that tackle your dog’s specific problems (such as dry, itchy skin or excessive shedding). Consider adding a supplement like Isle of Dogs’ Daily Fix, which includes omegas -3 and - 6, biotin and probiotics to help achieve a shiny and healthy coat.

Not to mention the happiness factor! A grooming routine keeps your pup’s coat healthy and shiny, but it’s also a phenomenal way for you and your dog to bond each week. And a happy, healthy dog shines from the inside out!
